1. What is the Immigration Medical Examination?

The exam is required for Immigrants seeking citizenship in the United States. It is a precautionary procedure used to ensure applicants are in good overall health, and admissible to become United States Citizens.

2. What does the Immigration Medical Examination consist of?

Generally, the Immigration Medical Exam will consist of the following procedures:

• Physical Examination
• Blood Test for Syphilis
• TB blood test (interferon-gamma release assay or IGRA)
• Urine for Gonorrhea
• Vaccinations

Additional medical tests may be required on a case by case basis.

3. What does a USCIS civil surgeon do?

A USCIS civil surgeon is responsible for administering the Immigration Medical Exam and filling out the I-693 (the supplemental exam form). The exam is performed to verify applicants are in good overall health and admissible to become a United States citizen.

4. Does your office have a USCIS civil surgeon?

Yes! Dr. Nassir is an experienced medical doctor who has been recognized by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) as a USCIS civil surgeon.

5. What can I expect when I come in for the exam?

On the day of your appointment, you can expect to meet directly with Dr. Nassir. He will administer all of the procedures associated with the Immigration Medical Examination, and fill out the I-693 form for you. The results of the exam are usually available within 5 business days.

6. What happens after the exam?

After your medical examination, you will return to our office to receive your results in a sealed envelope. The results are to be given to the USCIS. Do not open the sealed envelope.

7. How much does the exam cost?

The $345.00 charge includes everything. Don’t be fooled by other offices who charge you hidden fees once they get you in the door.
